Things to do in Brundall

RSPB Strumpshaw Fen reserve

Located approximately 6 miles east of Norwich on the River Yare, the RSPB Strumpshaw Fen reserve offers visitors a chance to walk around the reedbeds, woodlands and orchid-rich meadows

There is a Reception Hide and information centre and a picnic area. On the nature trails, visitors have the chance to spot marsh harriers, bitterns and kingfishers.

Several trains on the Wherry Lines services call at Buckenham station by request at the weekend. Strumpshaw Fen is about a mile away from the station, via quiet lanes.

The other nearby railway station is Brundall, which is approximately 1.4 miles from the reserve. From the station, walk up the hill (Station Road) towards Brundall village. At the main road, turn right and walk through Brundall and continue under the bridge towards Strumpshaw. Shortly after you pass the sign for Strumpshaw, turn right into Stone Road, and immediately right again into Low Road. Strumpshaw Fen reserve is approximately 500 metres down Low Road on the right.
