Dedicated to maritime history, the Lowestoft Maritime Museum is Britain’s most easterly museum
The museum’s exhibits include medals awarded to Royal Navy and RNLI personnel, marine art, an extensive collection of ship models, and maritime tools.
It also has interactive displays for children including a maritime identification trail, a wide range of historic photographs and paintings, a working VHS radio that lets visitors listen to passing ships, and a small museum cinema that showcases archive films.
Run by maritime enthusiasts and volunteers, the museum is open from April to October; check opening times and plan your visit ahead.
