The historic Hippodrome was built in 1903 by legendary circus showman George Gilbert
For more than a hundred years, visitors have experienced an incredible variety of entertainment in the intimate arena, from water spectacles to stage shows to orchestra performances.
In 2018, the Hippodrome’s Summer Spectacular is themed around the Circus 250 celebrations, a UK-wide celebration of 250 years of circus. Its backstage museum is open throughout the year.
