New Bittern Line and Wherry Lines websites launched
Two local railway lines’ revamped websites have just been launched by Community Rail Norfolk, with a fresh contemporary look in the hopes of offering users a smooth and more intuitive experience.
Information regarding the Bittern Line and Wherry Lines railways – which run from Norwich to Cromer and Sheringham, and Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft respectively – that can be found on the website include details on free guided railway walks held throughout the year by volunteers, information about each station and its location, and a variety of attractions along the routes.
The websites also include details of several local events and festivals held throughout the year and a blog section dedicated to community rail projects and events such as the unveiling of a memorial bench at North Walsham station, and the new Wherry Lines railway library, launched earlier this year.
Maggie Tan, Community Railway Norfolk’s Development Officer, said “We love the look and feel of the new websites and hope that railway travellers, both current and new, will find the information useful and take the opportunity to explore Norfolk and Suffolk by rail this summer”.
Peter Mayne, Chair of the Bittern Line Community Rail Partnership, said “We are excited about the launch of the new Bittern Line website with its user-friendly navigation. Do stay tuned for more community rail news on the website and our social media platforms too.”
Cllr Roger Foulger, Chair of the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership, said “We are delighted to invite rail travellers to explore the new Wherry Lines website and use it to plan great days out by train. We hope that the up-to-date information on the new interactive and responsive site will inspire day-trippers, families and visitors to the region alike.”
