St Olave’s Priory

Founded in about 1216, this small Augustinian priory is dedicated to Olaf, an 11th-century Norwegian king

Although much of it has been lost over time, the 14th-century undercroft is wonderfully preserved and its vaulted brick ceiling, supported on Purbeck marble columns,  is an important example of early English brickwork.
